What makes us different

Beyond the normal requirements that parents expect from a school, MCS has a number of unique areas that make it a school worth investing your child's future in. Here are some of the areas in which we offer services not common to all schools:

Christianity

  • We care about your child's entire future, not just here on earth, but beyond that. When we say 'Secure your child's future', we mean education, adulthood and eternity.
  • As a part of our curriculum we encourage outreach and community based programs. We teach our children to engage with the community and practically find ways of assisting. In the past we have taken places like Mandindindin Primary School and Mkoba Children's Home under our wing.

Counselling

  • We have qualified counsellors on staff to assist children with traumatic issues affecting them. A death in the family, an accident, abuse are examples of some of the issues our counsellors have to deal with.

Remedial

  • Children are our speciality, including those that struggle academically. We have a Progress Centre with well qualified staff to help tackle the difficulties some children face in the classroom.
  • Children receive one on one attention from our dedicated staff to ensure problems are overcome.
  • Our staff attend regular training workshops to ensure their skills remain up to date.

Full Passage

This institution provides full passage through all steps of your child's development:

  • Treasure Trove: Grade 00 and 0 (3-5years)
  • Midlands Christian School: Grades 1 -7 (6-12years)
  • Midlands Christian College: Forms 1-6 (13-18years)
  • Once in the system, it is much easier to ensure progression from one stage to the next! The earlier your child becomes a part of the system, the easier it is to take advantage of these extras.

Full Boarding

  • The atmosphere in hostel is that of a 'home away from home'. Children are housed in dormitories under the supervision of a Hostel Mother. Children from as young as 6 years old are permitted to remain in hostel over weekends where they are well taken care of and their needs met. More information is provided under the "Hostel" tab on the menu bar.

Examinations

  • We are a registered Cambridge centre that offer Cambridge International Examinations to all our pupils. All pupils write their Final Cambridge Examinations (which are marked and assessed at Cambridge in the United Kingdom) at the end of their Grade 7 year.
  • Our children are also required to sit their ZIMSEC and CHISZ examinations at the end of their grade 7 year.
  • We run all our programmes concurrently.

Our Fees

  • We pride ourselves in delivering an excellent service for a comparably low price.
  • We allow for terms on payment of fees - i.e. payment of school fees can be spread over a period of time. A parent would, however, be required to come to the school to discuss the terms with either the Headmistress or the Deputy Headmaster.
  • We set our fees in consultation with our parents.

Enrolment process

  • This is a quick and easy process. We have a helpful receptionist who is a pleasure to deal with.
